The challenge
The difficulty lies in the decisions
The SAP migration could not be treated as a single cutover. During the transition, EMEA locations continued to operate on Dynamics AX 2009 while product information, commerce, B2B exchange and support evolved across different corporate platforms. Every integration had to preserve business continuity without multiplying point-to-point dependencies.
Phased coexistence
Keep locations still dependent on AX operational while processes and markets moved to SAP at different speeds.
Contracts between systems
Separate the internal models of AX, SAP and digital platforms through services and messages with clear responsibilities.
Product and commerce
Coordinate product information and commercial operations between the ERP and SAP Hybris PCM and Commerce.
Operations and the B2B ecosystem
Integrate ServiceNow and SEEBURGER without turning every corporate change into a fragile legacy ERP modification.
The solution
Architecture and rules serving the process
A service layer between platforms
A substantial part of the integrations was developed as specialised services, preventing every system from having to understand the internal details of all the others.
Decoupled sources and destinations
Integration contracts allowed SAP, Hybris and corporate channels to evolve without pushing every change directly into AX 2009.
Traceability and recovery
Observing exchanges, failures and retries was part of the architecture, because a global integration must be operable as well as buildable.
Experience turned into product
The microservice architecture, contract separation and progressive ERP coexistence are now among the foundations of iDynamicsAX.

Operational value
What changes in practice
Operational continuity throughout a multinational transition that could not happen at once.
Lower coupling between the legacy ERP, the new corporate core and digital platforms.
Maintainable integrations built around explicit contracts instead of point-to-point connections.
Global architecture lessons subsequently incorporated into the design of iDynamicsAX.
An anonymised case: the engineering and process are explained without revealing confidential data or attributing unpublished client metrics.
